“Squid Game: The Challenge” is on the way to Netflix, and each move could be a contestant’s last.
The realty competition series, based on the first season of the blockbuster Korean drama series ‘Squid Game,’ will host 456 players from around the world to play a series of games inspired by the original show for prize of $4.56 million. Netflix is dubbing it as the “biggest competition ever.”
While the drama series featured violence and gruesome deaths, the 10—episode ‘The Challenge’ series is non-fatal—an aspect the challengers are no doubt thankful for.
The reality show’s official description reads: “As they compete through a series of games inspired by the original show — plus surprising new additions — their strategies, alliances, and character will be put to the test while competitors are eliminated around them.”
